21 February: Formula 1 Testing - Bahrain - Day 8, Barcelona - Day 1, Imola - Day 1

The Ferrari team concluded testing at the Bahrain track today with both Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa.

Michael Schumacher alternated between the 248 F1 and the F2004 while Felipe Massa drove the F2004.

Felipe Massa set the fastest time of the day with a 1:29.958. Michael Schumacher covered the most number of laps with 102 laps in the two cars.

Michael's time of 1:30.723 in the 248 F1 is the fastest so far on this track for a 2006 spec car.

Weather conditions were sunny with air temperature reaching 23 degrees and track temperatures reaching 33 degrees.

Ferrari's next test will be at Mugello from the 27th of February.

For reference, the best time in 2005 was a 1:29.527 by Mark Webber in the Williams FW27 during Saturday practice.

Testing commenced at Barcelona today with 5 teams present and 7 drivers setting lap times.

Mark Webber in the Williams FW28 set the fastest time of the day ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Robert Doornbos.

Webber's fastest time was a 1:17.699. Both Kimi Raikkonen and Tiago Monteiro covered the most number of laps with 59.

There were numerous red flags with many drivers stopping on the track.

The Super Aguri F1 team made it's official track debut at the track. Takuma Sato drove the SA05 but was hampered by hydraulic problems and a spin.

Weather conditions weren't ideal with cold temperatures in the morning and wet conditions in the afternoon.

Testing continues tomorrow with Renault, Honda and Toyota joining the test.

For reference, the best time for a 2006 spec car is a 1:15.928 by Nick Heidfeld in the BMW Sauber F1.06.

At Imola, the Toro Rosso team commenced testing with test driver Neel Jani at the wheel. Under wet conditions, Jani completed 38 laps with a best time of 1:36.420.

The team continue testing tomorrow with 2 STR1 chassis' with Vitantonio Liuzzi and Scott Speed.
