23 February: Formula 1 Testing - Barcelona - Day 3, Imola - Day 3

Testing continued at Barcelona today with 8 teams present and 14 drivers setting lap times.

Jenson Button on the Honda RA106 set the fastest time of the day ahead of of Giancarlo Fisichella and Fernando Alonso.

Button's time was a 1:13.935 making it the fastest time set so far in a 2006 specification car. Fisichella was just 0.035 seconds behind with Alonso a further 0.006 seconds behind.
Montoya covered the most number of laps with 131. An indicator McLaren are improving on their reliability.

 

There were fewer red flags during the session however both Toyota's stopped on the track.

Weather conditions were cloudy in the morning then clearing with air temperature reaching 12 degrees and track temperatures reaching 19 degrees.

Testing continues tomorrow.

Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4

At Imola, wet weather hampered testing again. Jacques Villeneuve set the fastest time of the day ahead of Robert Kubica and Scott Speed.
Villeneuve set a time of 1:30.866 and also covered the most number of laps with 92.

Testing continue tomorrow with BMW Sauber F1.
