14 February: Formula 1 Testing - Bahrain - Day 2, Valencia - Day 1, Barcelona - Day 1 and Vallelunga - Day 1
Weather conditions were partly cloudy with air temperature reaching 28 degrees and track temperatures reaching 39 degrees. Testing continues tomorrow with Michael Schumacher joining in the action. Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6, Day 7, Day 8 At Valencia, 4 teams commenced testing today with 9 drivers setting lap times. Mark Webber in the Williams FW28 set the fastest time of the day ahead of Christian Klien and Pedro de la Rosa. Webber's best time was a 1:10.601. Klien in the Red Bull Racing car covered the most number of laps with 100. The session had just 1 red flag when Giorgio Mondini went off the track in the interim MF1 Racing car. For reference, the best time in 2006 was a 1:10.552 by Fernando Alonso in the Renault R26 set on the 3rd of February. At Barcelona, the BMW Sauber teams commenced testing with Jacques Villeneuve and Robert Kubica driving. Both drivers tested 2006 specification cars. Villeneuve set the fastest time of the day with a 1:17.514. For reference, the best time in 2006 with a 2006 specification car was a 1:16.200 by Fernando Alonso in the Renault R26 set on the 25th of January. At Vallelunga, Toyota commenced testing their latest aerodynamic package. Details of their test will be available at the end of the test.
