16 February: Formula 1 Testing - Bahrain - Day 4, Valencia - Day 3, Barcelona - Day 3 and Vallelunga - Day 3

Fourth day of testing at Bahrain with Ferrari, Honda and Toro Rosso present. 6 drivers set lap times.

Felipe Massa driving the F2004 V10 set the fastest time of the day ahead of Jenson Button and Vitantonio Liuzzi.

Massa's fastest time was a 1:30.578 while Button's fastest time was a 1:31.248 in a 2006 specification car.

Jenson Button covered the most number of laps with 133.

Michael Schumacher continued having problems. He only managed 23 laps mainly in the afternoon.

For reference, the best time in 2005 was a 1:29.527 by Mark Webber in the Williams FW27 during Saturday practice.

Weather conditions were partly cloudy with air temperature reaching 28 degrees and track temperatures reaching 37 degrees.

Michael Schumacher will continue testing solo at the track.

Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6, Day 7, Day 8

At Valencia, 5 teams were present with 9 drivers setting lap times. Heikki Kovalainen in the Renault R26 set the fastest time of the day ahead of Juan Pablo Montoya and Giancarlo Fisichella.

Kovalainen's best time was a 1:10.618. Kovalainen also covered the most number of laps with 140.

The session had 2 red flags. Montoya and Rosberg stopped on the track. Montoya also went off the track earlier in the session.

For reference, the best time in 2006 was a 1:10.552 by Fernando Alonso in the Renault R26 set on the 3rd of February.

Weather conditions were sunny but windy with air temperature reaching 18 degrees and track temperatures reaching 22 degrees.

Testing continues tomorrow with 3 teams as McLaren and Williams have concluded their testing.

Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4

At Barcelona, the BMW Sauber team concluded testing with Nick Heidfeld and Jacques Villeneuve driving. Both drivers tested 2006 specification cars. Heidfeld set the fastest time of the day with a 1:15.928 which is also the fastest time in a 2006 spec car so far this year.
The team moves to Imola next week.

At Vallelunga, Toyota concluded testing their latest aerodynamic package. Due to the wet weather on 2 of the 3 day test, only Jarno Trulli managed to test the new package while Ralf Schumacher concentrated on tyre development. The track had a chicane added to it so time comparisons are not possible.
Trulli will conduct a wet test session tomorrow then the team moves to Barcelona next week.
