15 December: Formula 1 Testing - Jerez - Day 8 - Silverstone - Day 1 Testing continued at Jerez today and Michael Schumacher in the
F2004M V8 set the fastest time of the day ahead of Felipe Massa who was in the F2005 V10 and Renault Test driver Franck Montagny. Michael Schumacher's best time was a 1:18.953. Renault's Test driver Franck Montagny covered the most number of laps with 120 followed by Heikki Kovalainen with 119 and Pedro de la Rosa with 117 laps. Juan Pablo Montoya suffered an engine failure while Michael Schumacher had a minor spin in the morning. Weather conditions were cloudy and damp in the morning but sunny in the afternoon. Air temperature reached 18 degrees while track temperatures reached 23 degrees. At Silverstone, the RB2 - Red Bull Racing 2006 F1 contender - made it's track debut with David Coulthard at the wheel. Coulthard covered a limited number of laps in the Ferrari powered car and no times were released. Testing continues at both tracks tomorrow.
