After a break from testing yesterday, a number of Formula 1 teams returned to the track
today for the second week of the final major test in 2005. 4 teams and 6 drivers were present today with 3 more teams joining tomorrow. Ferrari's Felipe Massa in the F2005 running a restricted V10 engine set the fastest time of the day ahead of Toyota's test driver Ricardo Zonta and
McLaren's test driver Gary Paffett.
Felipe Massa's best time was a 1:19.070 while the fastest time set by a V8 powered car was Ricardo Zonta's with a 1:20.061.
Ricardo Zonta also covered the most number of laps with 92 laps.
There were no major incidents reported
however Gary Paffett in the McLaren and Franck Perera in the Toyota both had minor spins.
Weather conditions were sunny and cold with air temperature reaching 17 degrees while track temperatures reached 26 degrees.
Testing continues tomorrow with 3 more teams joining the test.
