10 December: Formula 1 Testing - Jerez - Day 4 Fourth day of testing at Jerez and BMW Sauber driver Jacques Villeneuve set the fastest time of the day. McLaren's Test driver Perdo de la Rosa was second fastest with Toyota's Test driver Ricardo Zonta in third. 5 teams and 10 drivers took part in the test today. Williams, Honda and Red Bull concluded testing for the week. McLaren Test driver Alex Wurz and Ferrari Test driver Marc Gene both covered the most number of laps with 111 followed by Jacques Villeneuve with 101. Villeneuve's best time was a 1:18.752 running a V8 engine. The fastest time set by a F1 V8 engine at Jerez so far. McLaren and MF1 Racing had 1 car with a V10 and another car with a V8. All other teams ran V8 engines. MF1 Racing evaluated three young drivers, Markus Winkelhock, Fabrizio del Monte and Roman Rusinov. No major problems reported today. Marc Gene had a minor problem with his Ferrari. Weather conditions were sunny and clear with air temperature reaching 20 degrees while track temperatures reached 25 degrees.
