09 December: Formula 1 Testing - Jerez - Day 3 Third day of testing at Jerez and McLaren's Test driver Perdo de la Rosa set the fastest time of the day in a V10 powered car ahead of Nico Rosberg and Jenson Button in V8 powered cars. 8 teams and 13 drivers took part in the test today. Renault concluded testing for this week. Honda Racing driver Jenson Button covered the most number of laps with 122 laps followed by David Coulthard with 104 laps. de la Rosa's best time was a 1:17.303 running a V10 engine while Rosberg in second set a 1:19.174 running a V8 engine. For reference, the fastest time in 2005 at Jerez was a 1:15.561 by Pedro de la Rosa in the McLaren MP4/20 Red Bull Racing ran restricted V10 engines, McLaren and MF1 Racing had 1 car with a V10 and another car with a V8. All other teams ran V8 engines. No major problems reported today although Ferrari didn't test with the F2005, the BMW Sauber had some hydraulic problems and one of the Toyota's had a fuel system problem. Weather conditions were sunny and clear with air temperature reaching 21 degrees while track temperatures reached 29 degrees. Testing continues tomorrow.
