9 Formula 1 teams were present at the Jerez track today. Pedro de la Rosa driving the MP4-20 fitted with a V10 engine set the fastest time of the day ahead of Michael Schumacher driving the F2004 fitted with a V8 engine and Ricardo Zonta in the Toyota TF106 V8.
de la Rosa's fastest time
was a 1:16.509 while Michael's time was a 1:17.970. BAR Test driver Anthony Davidson covered the most number of laps with 112.
There were several red flags during the test with David Coulthard in the Red Bull suffering an engine failure, Ralf Schumcher in the Toyota spinning into the gravel and Nico Rosberg in the Williams suffering a
gearbox failure.
Several drivers returned to testing duties today including Trulli, Heidfeld, Liuzzi and Rosberg. Alex Wurz who recently signed with Williams as their test driver was also present.
Tomorrow (Thursday), Rubens Barrichello will get his first taste of the Honda while Scott
Speed will test for Toro Rosso.
While rumours continue regarding the Toyota driver lineup in 2007, the Toyota team confirmed its commitment to both Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli.
