4th day of testing at Barcelona with 8 teams present and 14 drivers setting lap times.
Once again Felipe Massa driving the F2004 V8 set the fastest time of the day ahead of Rubens Barrichello and Giancarlo Fisichella.
Massa's time was a 1:15.970 while the fastest 2006 spec car was that of Barrichello's with a time of 1:16.361. Fernando Alonso in the Renault covered the most number of laps with 109.
There was only 0.004 seconds gap between Barrichello and Fisichella. Barrichello's time was set during a shorter run than Fisichella.
Nick Heidfeld set the 4th fastest time less than two tenths slower than Barrichello. His time was also set during a short run.
Kimi Raikkonen had his first test in the new McLaren MP4-21. He completed 65 and set the twelvth fastest time. Kimi's running was interrupted by an oil leak early in the afternoon.
Michael Schumacher commenced testing the 248 F1. He covered 78 laps and set the 8th fastest time. Michael had a problem late in the session.
Giancarlo Fisichella stopped twice on the track.
Weather conditions were again cold but sunny with air temperature reaching 13 degrees and track temperature reaching 14 degrees.
Testing continues tomorrow with 6 teams as BMW Sauber and Toro Rosso concluded their testing for the week.
