7 April: Formula 1 Testing - 5 - 8 April 8 Formula 1 teams continued testing at the Barcelona circuit today. The teams continued working on setup and tyre testing in preparation for the upcoming San Marino and Spanish Grands Prix. Jenson Button broke the circuit's unofficial record setting a time of 1:13.552 followed by Jarno Trulli
and Takuma Sato. The previous record was held by Takuma Sato (1:13.797) set in 2004. Fisichella went off the track in the afternoon damaging his car but was unhurt. Weather conditions were fine with air temperature reaching 23 degrees while track temperature reached 29 degrees. Renault and Toyota have concluded their test. The other teams concluded their test tomorrow when Michael Schumacher takes over from Rubens Barrichello. Formula 1 Team notes below
