7 April: Barcelona Test Report - Day 2 Takuma Sato joined the B.A.R Honda team this morning for the second day of the test at the Circuit de Catalunya. Driving chassis 007-05, he spent the early part of the morning completing set-up runs. With a good balance achieved, he ran through a tyre evaluation completing 68 laps and setting the fastest time of the morning - a 01:14.251. Jenson Button remained in chassis 007-01 and spent the morning session continuing his aerodynamic evaluation, alongside a suspension test. He completed 74 laps. In the afternoon session, he concentrated on fine-tuning the car alongside some chassis set-up work. Jenson completed 67 laps in the afternoon, taking his final lap tally for the day to 141 laps. On one of his final runs of the afternoon, Jenson set the fastest time of the day, which is also a new lap record for the Circuit de Catalunya. Takuma had previously held the lap record since February 2004 when he set a time of 01:13.797 in the Concept car. Takuma spent the afternoon continuing his tyre evaluation completing longer runs. He ran through all of his scheduled programme completing a total of 121 laps. Enrique Bernoldi took over from Takuma in chassis 007-05 for the last hour and a half of the afternoon running. He worked mainly on the set-up of the car completing 21 laps.
