27 April: Mugello Test - Day 1 Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson set the pace as Lucky Strike B.A.R Honda prepared for the Spanish Grand Prix at Mugello in Italy. The two-day test will see all four B.A.R Honda drivers in action with Takuma driving chassis 007-05 and Anthony 007-01 on Wednesday. Both drivers spent their early runs acclimatising themselves to both the car and the circuit as this is the first time the team has tested at Mugello this year. With a good balance established, Takuma ran through an aerodynamic evaluation, completing 64 laps. Anthony followed his set-up runs with a tyre programme evaluating options for the forthcoming race at Barcelona. He completed 85 laps in total. Anthony continued his tyre programme in the afternoon, completing a further 55 laps to bring his final lap tally for the day to 144 laps. Anthony successfully ran through his full test programme and set the fastest time of the day - a 1m 20.652. Takuma continued to evaluate the new aerodynamic parts in the afternoon session, completing a further 28 laps. He completed 92 laps in total today, setting the second fastest time - a 1m 20.654.
