09 March: Gene fastest as McLaren and BAR join the test
On the second day of testing at Jerez, Marc Gene in the Ferrari set the fastest time with a 1:17.045 ahead of Alexander Wurz in
the McLaren and Anthony Davidson in the BAR.
Alexander Wurz had an engine failure in the MP4-19B ending McLaren's programme for the day early.
Enrique Bernoldi covered the most number of laps with 122 while Gene covered 115 laps.
Weather was overcast then sunny with air temperatures reaching 19 degrees and track temperatures reaching 30 degrees.
Toyota were delayed while Williams, Renault and the Ferrari F2005 are all expected to join the test tomorrow.
