9 February: Jerez Testing, Day 2 Fernando Alonso, R25-02, 35 laps, 155 km Giancarlo Fisichella, R25-03, 60 laps, 266 km The Mild Seven Renault F1 Team’s second day of testing in Jerez proved frustrating, with mechanical problems sidelining both drivers at different points of the day and preventing any coherent work either on tyre development or long-distance running. Both drivers nonetheless managed to being tyre testing programmes in preparation for the Australian Grand Prix. Chief Test Engineer Christian Silk commented: “It was frustrating to complete fewer laps than we had planned today, but we nevertheless began our tyre testing for Melbourne and obtained some clear directions on our choices. Both drivers remained positive about the car’s performance at this circuit, but we have not yet completed any dedicated set-up work for this circuit. Along with further tyre development, that will be our priority tomorrow.” Unofficial Times:
