Sep.12 (GMM) Even the notoriously partisan Italian press was enthralled with German Sebastian Vettel's performance in a blue Red Bull at Monza.
Usually only impressed with feats in a red cockpit, the country's media hailed 24-year-old Vettel as F1's new great."Bravissimo!" said the authoritative sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport."The cheers of the crowd showed how much they love Vettel."24-year-old Vettel, however, experienced the full force of the Tifosi when he was bombarded with some boos on the unique Monza podium."You could also hear that," he admitted. "Jenson (Button) said to me that's normal here."Vettel therefore admitted winning "wearing a red suit" would be "better" at Monza in the future."We will see what happens as one day you don't know what's happening. We will see," he grinned.Italian correspondents welcomed F1's new king."Vettel ascends the throne," hailed Corriere dello Sport, a Rome-based newspaper. "He drove a perfect race."Agreed Tuttosport: "Vettel's race was 'grandissima'!""Tears and class," surmised the broadsheet national La Repubblica. "Vettel is dreaming of red. Not even super-Alonso could do something about him at Monza."Corriere della Sera, one of Italy's oldest and most reputable newspapers, agreed: "Vettel wins and thus deserves the title and a place at Ferrari."
