Aug.8 (GMM) HRT has no intention of returning to the formula one teams association FOTA, team boss Colin Kolles insists.
The back-of-the-grid Spanish team is the only outfit on the grid not a member of the association, whose website says it wants to "promote the development of F1 and enhance its worldwide image and reputation".But Kolles suggested to Germany's motorsport-total.com that FOTA's real ambition is to push the interests of the big teams in commercial contract negotiations."If they would respond to our needs, we would think about it (re-joining FOTA) again," he said."But I think we are better off negotiating our own contracts, because we understand our problems better than the chairman of FOTA (Martin Whitmarsh) who may want something completely different."
