Mar.28 (GMM) Rubens Barrichello has sided with fellow veteran Pedro de la Rosa in calling for better rear-view mirrors in formula one.
In the past few years, mirrors have increasingly become integrated with the aerodynamics of the car, often mounted outboard on flimsy bodywork rather than beside the drivers near the cockpit. And with F1's three new teams struggling for pace, and more cars than in recent years now filling the circuits, the issue of traffic has been high on the list of drivers' complaints so far in Melbourne.De la Rosa, reprimanded by stewards for impeding another driver this weekend, told reporters late on Saturday that he is pushing the FIA for a better mirror solution."Rear visibility on the current cars is worse than ever," Barrichello is quoted as agreeing to Germany's Auto Motor und Sport. The rules say drivers need to be able to read letters or numbers placed behind the car during scrutineering tests.-Following his brush with police on Friday night, hundreds of spectators screamed "burnout!" at the 2008 world champion during the driver parade at Albert Park. But the Briton described the Australians' reaction as "cool", remarking that it had been "the best driver parade of my entire life".
