Jul.2 (GMM) Michelin is "disappointed" with F1's decision to snub its proposal to return to formula one in 2011.
Although an official application was not lodged, the French marque did engage in detailed talks with teams, FOM and the FIA about replacing the departing Bridgestone. But Michelin was asking for key rule changes, including the scrapping of the single tyre supplier policy, and - as revealed by racing boss Nick Shorrock - measures to demonstrate "respect for the environment".F1 has instead opted for Pirelli tyres, with no changes to the rules. In the meantime, the teams association FOTA has announced a carbon emissions reduction programme, with a focus on the fuel efficiency of the engines in 2013.But Shorrock told France's Auto Hebdo that he is not impressed with the direction of formula one."We are disappointed not to see motor sport lead the evolution of our society," he said.
