Jan.27 (GMM) Tony Teixeira will reportedly acquire the share of the new Spanish F1 team Campos that is currently owned by Meta Image.
The rumour has been circulating for some time, but Spain's Cadena SER reports that the deal with the South African entrepreneur will shortly be confirmed.Meta Image is a Spanish sports marketing company that allied with Adrian Campos to launch the Valencia based team, but Germany's Auto Motor und Sport reports that it is running out of time to secure its financial package for 2010.The magazine agrees that "a new investor" looks set to enter the frame officially within days.Auto Motor und Sport said Teixeira's plan is to install the A1GP champion Adam Carroll in the car alongside Bruno Senna, but reveals that Bernie Ecclestone is reluctant to approve the deal.Reportedly, the F1 chief executive will only green-light Teixeira's takeover if he erases all the debts of his beleaguered A1 series. It is rumoured Ecclestone favours Zoran Stefanovic's plans for Stefan GP, but the Serbian is ready to race with the departed Toyota's 2010 package, while Campos prefers to press ahead with the well-advanced Dallara project.Spain's Diario Sport, estimating Teixeira's deal to be worth EUR20 million, reports that Andy Soucek, the reigning F2 champion, may now have enough funding to secure the Campos seat alongside Senna."Negotiations with Campos are on standby," said the Spaniard. "I am hoping for Adrian's call this week."
