Jan.26 (GMM) Daniel Ricciardo and Brendon Hartley were on Tuesday announced as Red Bull's joint reserve drivers for 2010.
The energy drink company said the respectively Australian and New Zealand-born drivers will alternate their duties "on a race by race basis".Ricciardo, 20, is the new British F3 champion, who impressed during his F1 test debut last month by setting the fastest time at Jerez in the RB5."It's very exciting," he said on Tuesday. "It was an email I was hoping for since the test in December, but I wasn't sure whether it would come at all."It's all exciting and I'll be busy, even though I'm not driving," Ricciardo added.Hartley, also 20, tested for Toro Rosso at the same test and also "displayed good pace and offered useful feedback", Red Bull said in a media statement.The Milton Keynes based pair will also be teammates this year in the World Series by Renault.Also announced on Tuesday morning was the renewal of Sauber's sponsorship deal with Certina, giving the the Swiss sports watch maker "considerably higher visibility" on the 2010 car.
