Jan.19 (GMM) The F1 teams alliance FOTA on Tuesday confirmed reports that Martin Whitmarsh has succeeded Luca di Montezemolo as chairman.
A media statement said Whitmarsh, the McLaren team boss, was elected for 2010, with Ferrari's Stefano Domenicali his deputy.
Red Bull's Christian Horner is to head the sporting group, with Ross Brawn remaining in charge of technical matters.
Flavio Briatore had been the commercial chief last year, but FOTA said that role will now be managed "by the Executive Committee".
"FOTA Teams now look forward to working with Martin Whitmarsh to continue the development of activities in the long term interest of formula one, in collaboration with all the other stakeholders," the body added.
Meanwhile, the logos of the four new teams - Lotus, Virgin, Campos and USF1 - are now displayed on the official FOTA website, meaning all competitors for 2010 are members of the association.
