Feb.10 (GMM) Lewis Hamilton could be at the wheel of an Australian V8 Supercar for a race next year.
Team Vodafone boss Roland Dane said this week that the McLaren driver and 2008 world champion would have raced in 2009 if the newly launched Gold Coast SuperCarnivale did not clash with the Korean grand prix."I'd get Lewis next year if the timing is right and I can get Vodafone to come up with the dollars," he is quoted as saying by the Adelaide newspaper The Advertiser. The rules of the Surfers Paradise endurance street race are that 18 drivers must be "international".Among the non-Supercar drivers already confirmed are former F1 stars Mark Blundell, Christian Fittipaldi and David Brabham, and rumours suggest Sebastien Bourdais is a likelihood."I'd love to get Hamilton, but I'm not thinking about next year just yet," Dane added.
