Feb.19 (GMM) Stefan GP's 2010 car is ready to hit the track, boss Zoran Stefanovic announced on Friday.
The Serbian entrepreneur, who is pushing to receive an official entry for this season, has enlisted the backing of Toyota Motorsport GmbH and prepared the departed team's 2010 package from its Cologne base."We are ready," he said in an interview with Germany's motorsport-total.com, revealing that at 8am the S01 car was fired up in the car preparation bays."There were no problems, we could now go to the racing track, for example for a test. However, we are waiting still for tyres," added Stefanovic, who said the car is painted Serbian national red.Stefanovic is referring to the fact that Bridgestone, F1's official supplier, can only supply tyres to actual confirmed 2010 entrants. He also revealed that Pascal Vasselon, Toyota's technical director until 2009, has a similar role now with Stefan GP.Stefanovic said he is now waiting to hear from the FIA, and in the meantime is concentrating on finalising driver contracts."We are pleased that we are close to (getting) the final signature of Jacques Villeneuve, and in addition the negotiations with a third driver are nearly at a conclusion."Our first man is Kazuki Nakajima," he confirmed.
