Apr.29 (GMM) Peter Sauber on Thursday hinted he might once again get deeply involved in his formula one team.
Swiss based Sauber's 66-year-old founder took back the reigns as team principal in the wake of BMW's departure, but he does not run the day-to-day operation at the Hinwil factory.Instead, Austrian woman Monisha Kaltenborn was earlier this year appointed managing director, with Peter Sauber effectively only at charge at the grand prix tracks. After a strong winter for the white 2010 car, the C29 has been both uncompetitive and unreliable so far this season, and with the exception of the new teams is the only established outfit yet to score a single point.Asked in an official team interview if there is a "deep-seated" reason for the team's slow progress, Sauber answered: "Yes, that's probably true."When I sold the team to BMW in 2006 I made a clear decision to take a step back. It was important for me to have a certain distance from things."Now I'm discovering that there's quite a lot to do. This process of analysis is underway and we will see the results in the near future," he added.
