Apr.17 (GMM) Force India has become the first team to adhere to F1's new ban on outboard mountings for rear-view mirrors.
It emerged in Malaysia two weeks ago that, to boost driver's rearward visibility, mirrors would soon no longer be allowed on flimsy aerodynamic bodywork mounted away from the cockpit sides. It was reported that the ban would come into effect this weekend in China, but in fact the teams were given until Barcelona to make the necessary changes to their cars.As well as Force India, the teams with cars that will be affected by the ban are Red Bull, Ferrari, Williams, Sauber and HRT.All of those teams, with the exception of Force India, still had outboard mirrors attached to their cars on Saturday in Shanghai. The ban does not affect McLaren, Mercedes, Lotus, Virgin, Toro Rosso and Renault.
