Jun.1 (GMM) An unnamed team official has expressed interest in wooing runaway championship leader Jenson Button away from Brawn GP ahead of the 2010 season.
Brawn's CEO Nick Fry has already admitted that, in the wake of the Brackley outfit's survival following the withdrawal of Honda, the team will have to boost the Briton's slashed retainer for next year.At the same time, an unnamed boss of what the Mirror newspaper described as a 'leading team' said of the 29-year-old: "We'd love to have him in our car next year."The unnamed boss said any doubts about Button after his nine up-and-down prior seasons have been eradicated now."We are certainly interested in his services and have made that known, but we'd be daft to assume we're the only ones," the boss said.In the opening six races of 2009, Button equalled Michael Schumacher's 2002 record by winning five times, and heads the drivers' championship by 16 points.
