Jul.21 (GMM) Jaime Alguersuari has revealed he has not been promised anything by Toro Rosso beyond the 2009 season.
Reportedly on the back of sponsorship by Repsol and La Caixa, the 19-year-old Spaniard will become the youngest ever F1 driver this weekend when he drives out of the pitlane in the car previously raced by Sebastien Bourdais.Amid the in-season testing ban, Alguersuari has no experience at the wheel of formula one cars beyond two straight-line aerodynamic tests."I do not expect anything from him for at least his first three races," said team boss Franz Tost this week.To the El Mundo newspaper on Tuesday, after PR trips to Barcelona and Madrid, Alguersuari concurs: "We will speak about next year later. I assume that I am a bet for the future."There is no pressure, I am here (in 2009) to learn," he said in Spain before flying to Budapest. "The first race will be the most difficult of all."Alguersuari, who became emotional when asked about the death of his British friend Henry Surtees, listed his objectives for his first few grands prix as to "observe and to learn".
