Dec.4 (GMM) Giancarlo Fisichella admits he is keen to keep racing in formula one, but insists he will be Ferrari's reserve driver in 2010.
In the wake of French youngster and 2010 GP2 driver Jules Bianchi's signing by Ferrari for a yet undesignated role, it has been rumoured that Roman veteran Fisichella, 36, might be bumped from the "third" seat. But Fisichella, who completed 2009 as injured Felipe Massa's race replacement after 13 full-time seasons in F1, told Germany's Auto Bild that his 2010 role is clear."I will definitely be Ferrari's third driver, regardless of whether I find a racing seat somewhere else," said the Italian.Fisichella said he would like to add to his grand tally of 231 races next year, but insists he is not desperate."My manager (Enrico Zanarini) is working on it," he revealed. "If it works, I'm happy. If not, it's no problem."I have done more than 230 races and I don't want to start completely from scratch with a new team," he added, referring to Lotus, USF1, Campos and Manor, all of which have race seat vacancies for the 2010 season. With Sauber now granted a 2010 team entry, Fisichella has been linked with a race seat there, because of the Swiss team's use of a Ferrari powertrain in 2010.
