Dec.22 (GMM) Bernie Ecclestone does not expect two of F1's four new teams to actually race in 2010, according to the Times newspaper.
The London based publication said the sport's 79-year-old chief executive was referring to Campos and USF1."I think the people we expected to perform will and those that we thought wouldn't, won't," Ecclestone is quoted as saying.Interestingly, however, the British billionaire also told the newspaper he expects 24 cars to be lining up for the Bahrain season opener next March. But with 13 teams confirmed for the 2010 world champion, the loss of USF1 and Campos would result in a 22-car grid. The Serbian outfit Stefan GP is expected to formally take over the design of Toyota's 2010 car and subsequently test it, in the hope of debuting either next year or in 2011.
