Aug.20 (GMM) Malaysian low-cost airline AirAsia has emerged as a possible saviour of the BMW-Sauber team.
It is rumoured that the Kuala Lumpur-based company may be interested in taking over the Hinwil based team after the withdrawal of its current majority owner BMW.AirAsia's sponsorship contract with the Williams team is set to run until the end of next year.Chief executive Tony Fernandes told the Malay Mail: "Our interest in F1 is still Williams. We will continue to sponsor them."
