Aug.22 (GMM) Stewards on Saturday decided not to penalise Sebastian Vettel after his engine failure in the morning practice session.
Race director Charlie Whiting submitted a report to the FIA officials after the German driver suffered a blown Renault engine but did not pull to the side of the Valencia street circuit. The one-hour practice session was significantly curtailed under red flag conditions, as a street-sweeper truck, and marshals with white powder, tried to clean up the trail of oil that extended from turns 17 to 24.The stewards met with Whiting, the Red Bull team manager and 22-year-old Vettel, but ultimately "decided that the incident requires no further action".
