Aug.10 (GMM) The South African province Gauteng has decided against bidding to host a formula one race.
Earlier this year it was reported that the Gauteng Motor Sport Company, set up by the provincial government, had enlisted the services of an independent analyst to perform an economic-impact study on what the sport could bring to the region.But according to the state-owned broadcaster SABC, Gauteng Economic Development minister Firoz Cachalia said the money will instead be used for job creation.The last South African GP was held at Kyalami in 1993.
