Apr.15 (GMM) Williams is not only planning to use its unique 'flywheel' approach to KERS technology in formula one.
The British team, hoping to debut the energy re-use system aboard its FW31 some time later this season, has developed its KERS after buying a hybrid power company and renaming it Williams Hybrid Power."We are also looking at commercial applications for that technology," said the Oxfordshire based team's chief executive Adam Parr.He told Malaysia's Star newspaper that the new approach, after always focusing exclusively on grand prix racing, is a reaction to the global recession."We are trying to diversify our business a little bit," Parr explained, admitting that designing the new F2 car is part of the same strategy.
