30 August: Italian Grand Prix Preview - Jordan Grand Prix Jordan Grand Prix goes to the Italian GP straight from a three-day test at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza with all four drivers – Narain Karthikeyan, Tiago Monteiro, Nicolas Kiesa and Nicky Pastorelli – contributing to the programme. The team carried out almost 1400km of mileage with the new EJ15B on one of the oldest and fastest tracks, which they all knew from previous experience. Following the toss of a coin in Istanbul by Alex Shnaider, Co-founder and Chairman of the Midland Group Board, Tiago Monteiro won the toss and will drive the new car at Monza this weekend. Burgess, Sporting Director TESTING UPDATE In preparation for the Italian and Belgian Grands Prix, Narain Karthikeyan Tiago Monteiro, Nicolas Kiesa and Nicky Pastorelli carried out a three-day test for Jordan Grand Prix at Monza on 24, 25 and 26 August, sharing the driving duties over the three days. Dominic Harlow, Chief Race & Test Engineer commented: “It was a very good test with the EJ15B in order to prepare us to use this car at the Monza race this coming weekend and for the remaining events of the year. We covered 1387Km over the three days allowing our race drivers and third driver to acclimatise to the specific demands of Monza whilst working through systems checks and race simulations with the 'B' car. Monza requires a specific aero package which we ran and collected data from. We also tested some development engine components from Toyota and tested tyres for Bridgestone. We are pleased with the information we collected from the three days and feel that the new car has performed in line with our expectations based on our simulations moving us closer to the teams ahead of us in the pit lane. It was also very good to see the reliability of the car, a particular strong point of the team this year, was essentially sound. The engineers uncovered some useful setup directions for the forthcoming race and I'm sure they will find further small gains as the weekend progresses. Finally, we would also like to thank Nicky Pastorelli for his contribution helping us with some aero testing and running some development parts during the second day of the test.” 2005 Italian Grand Prix - Main Page Latest Formula 1 News from Jordan: Midland sign Christijan Albers (01/11/2005)2005 Formula 1 Season Review (27/10/2005) Midland sign Nicky Pastorelli (24/10/2005) Belgium - Race (11/09/2005) Belgium - Qualifying (10/09/2005) Belgium - Friday Practice (09/09/2005) Italy - Race (04/09/2005) Italy - Qualifying (03/09/2005) More news from Jordan F1
