3 June: Silverstone Test Notes - Day 3 BMW WilliamsF1 Team concludes Silverstone test On the final of testing at the ‘Silverstone Circuit’, Mark Webber and the BMW WilliamsF1 Team’s official test and reserve driver, Nico Rosberg, were in action. As on Wednesday, rain showers hampered the teams’ testing progress in the afternoon. However, both Mark and Nico made full use of the dry morning session to complete some more set-up work on their Williams BMW FW27s in preparation for the forthcoming rounds of the FIA Formula One World Championship. Mark completed a total of 82 laps at the 5.141 kilometre track, setting a personal best time of 1:19.615 minutes. His German teammate covered 70 laps of the Northamptonshire circuit. Nico’s best lap was clocked at 1:19.950 minutes. Now, the BMW WilliamsF1 Team is heading to Montreal, Canada, venue of the next World Championship round. Sam Michael (Technical Director, WilliamsF1): "Today we finished the pre-British Grand Prix Silverstone test for which Nick, Mark and Nico were all on duty in the FW27. Although the weather did not prove ideal for dry tyre work, we did go through all the soft and hard tyre programmes that Michelin presented. We now have to go through all the data to make our tyre choice for the race here in a month's time. In addition to tyre work, we also worked on set-ups, tested a few different aero parts in readiness for the Canadian GP and signed off some new mechanical parts for the water system. Mark and Nick worked with their usual professionalism and Nico is already making a significant contribution to the team.“ Mario Theissen (BMW Motorsport Director): "It was a very successful test for us. We concentrated on making improvements to the start procedure and we also made some progress in terms of traction control."
