22 May: Monaco Grand Prix - Race Report - Red Bull Racing A frustrating day for Red Bull Racing at the Monaco Grand Prix. After qualifying in seventh position, David Coulthard’s race came to a premature end on Lap 23 when he was the victim of an incident involving Minardi driver Christijan Albers. After spinning in his Minardi at Mirabeau, Albers blocked the track ahead of David Coulthard and Michael Schumacher. David was able to slow and avoid the stricken car, but Michael’s Ferrari clipped the rear of Coulthard’s car, causing floor, back-wing and rear-suspension damage. David’s team-mate Tonio Liuzzi retired when extensive rear tyre wear unbalanced his car and he hit the barrier on lap 61. Both drivers retired their cars in the pit lane. Technical Director: Simon Corbyn, Head of Race Engineering, Cosworth: "George Lucas pointed out on Friday that Darth Vader isn't known for his tolerance of failure, therefore I'm relieved to be able to confirm that Cosworth had no engine concerns throughout the Monaco GP weekend. Once more both TJ2005 engines ran reliably throughout their second events & we had no performance or driveability problems on the demanding street circuit." 2005 Monaco Grand Prix - Main Page Sunday Qualifying David Coulthard: “It was okay, not a mega performance, but not bad. The team’s working hard to get points so I hope to get a good result here. There were no big moments and, strategy wise, we’ll find out in the race whether it was a good lap or not.” Tonio Liuzzi: Chassis Number: 1 “The track was much better for this morning’s run than it was yesterday when I was first out and it was dirty. Actually, I wasn’t expecting it to be in such good condition. I think it was a good lap for me, I had more grip, which gave me more confidence and I was able to push. I had a small slide at Tabac Corner, but apart from that, it was okay. Overall I’m happy about the session and am just looking forward to the race.“ 2005 Monaco Grand Prix - Main Page Latest Formula 1 News from Red Bull Racing: Red Bull Racing announce driver line-up for 2007 (07/08/2006)Red Bull Racing RB2 debuts at Silverstone (15/12/2005) Red Bull confirms Christian Klien as their 2nd driver (06/12/2005) Robert Doornbos joins Red Bull Racing (29/11/2005) Red Bull Racing signs Adrian Newey (08/11/2005) Red Bull Announces Squadra Toro Rosso (15/10/2005) Brazil - Race (25/09/2005) Brazil - Qualifying (24/09/2005) Klien to drive for the rest of the season (13/09/2005) Belgium - Race (11/09/2005) More news from Red Bull Racing
