McLaren Mercedes have completed their testing programme at the Jerez circuit in Spain with Kimi Raikkonen and Pedro de la Rosa
driving the MP4-20s.
The programme for the two-day test was focused on preparing for the Spanish Grand Prix next weekend. Both
Kimi and Pedro worked on tyre testing with Michelin and durability runs. In addition various set-ups were evaluated as well as
aerodynamic developments.
Pedro's time of 1m15.650 puts him fastest overall and he completed 130 laps today. During the two
days Pedro did a total of 269 laps or 1192 km with one engine. Kimi completed a total of 70 laps today and finished second overall
with a time of 1m16.467.
The week following the Spanish Grand Prix, the Team McLaren Mercedes team is scheduled to test at
Paul Ricard in France from 11th-13th May.
Kimi Raikkonen "We have had two productive days in Jerez preparing
for the Spanish Grand Prix. We have been testing a number of developments in respect of aerodynamics and set-ups and it will be
interesting to see how they work in a race weekend situation."
Pedro de la Rosa "Our main focus for the
past two days has been preparations and evaluations for the Grand Prix in my home country the weekend after next. We have done a lot
of work considering we were only running two days when I did almost 1200 km and experienced no major problem."
