Conditions
for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team's third day of testing at Valencia were dire, with rain all day, and temperatures barely creeping above
5°C.
However, the BMW WilliamsF1 Team, and tyre partner Michelin, made good use of the atrocious conditions, testing rain
tyres and two different intermediate compounds. Nick Heidfeld completed 61 laps, more than any other driver present, and set a
personal best time of 1:26.582 minutes.
Nick will be back at the wheel of the FW27 tomorrow, on the final day of testing
before the 2005 FIA Formula One World Championship season gets underway in Melbourne.
Tim Newton (Test Team Manager,
WilliamsF1): "Unfortunately, Nick’s penultimate day of testing before the season starts was too wet to do any constructive
testing, so we focused on systems checks and familiarisation work with the FW27 in preparation for Melbourne. Hopefully the weather
will improve for our final day of track work with Nick tomorrow.”
