9 February: Jerez Test Day 2 On the second day of testing at the Circuito de Jerez, conditions were perfect, with temperatures reaching 18 degrees C, and absolutely no wind in the afternoon. With just over three weeks to go before the 2005 Formula One World Championship season kicks off, Mark Webber and Nick Heidfeld continued the BMW WilliamsF1 Team's preparations. The Australian worked on set ups, while his German teammate also worked on set ups before switching to tyre compound evaluations for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team's tyre partner, Michelin. Mark completed 34 laps, posting a best time of 1:17.881, while Nick completed 121 laps on his way to posting the second fastest time of the day, a 1:17.325. Tim Newton (Test Team Manager, WilliamsF1): “Nick enjoyed another productive day today at Jerez, managing to clock a massive 122 laps in the FW27 while carrying out set-up work and tyre testing with Michelin. Mark, unfortunately, didn’t have quite such a successful day following technical problems in the morning and an off in the afternoon, both of which left him confined to the garage for the majority of the day. Both drivers will continue testing tomorrow, by which time we will hopefully have rectified the problem on Mark’s car.” Latest Formula News from Williams: Williams confirm Wurz and Rosberg for 2007 (02/08/2006)
