On the second day of testing at the 'Circuit de la
Comunitat Ricardo Tormo, Mark Webber and Nick Heidfeld continued the BMW WilliamsF1 Team's 2005 preparations. Thankfully, conditions
at Valencia were a little better today, with bright sunshine and the temperature reaching a relatively balmy 15°C.
In the
morning, both drivers focused on set-ups before switching to tyre evaluations in the afternoon. Mark concentrated on tyre
constructions while Nick evaluated tyre compounds. The Australian completed 101 laps, posting a best time of 1:10.647 minutes, while
his German team-mate completed 97 laps on his way to posting a personal best time of 1:10.366 minutes.
Tim Newton (Test
Team Manager, WilliamsF1): "Mark and Nick continued where they left off yesterday with acclimatization work and set-up
evaluations. Both drivers also carried out elements of tyre testing with Michelin. Mark and Nick will resume testing tomorrow.”
