2 February: Valencia Test - Day 1

Anthony Davidson and Takuma Sato shared the driving responsibilities on Wednesday in chassis 007-01 and 007-02 for the first day of Lucky Strike B.A.R Honda's latest three-day test in Valencia.

Anthony spent the morning running through a tyre evaluation programme. After an initial set-up run, he completed two short runs before moving onto evaluating the tyres over longer runs. He completed 69 laps in the morning session. Takuma also ran through a tyre evaluation using various new compounds over short runs and completing 61 laps in the session.

Anthony had a productive afternoon completing his planned programme. He ran through long runs on the same set of tyres, completing a further 76 laps. His final lap tally for the day was an impressive 145 laps. Takuma continued to run through his planned tyre evaluation, completing a further 30 laps to take his total for the day to 91 laps. Jenson Button will join the test on Thursday, taking over from Anthony in chassis 007-01.

The Young Driver Programme is also taking place in Valencia this week. Following their first runs during the Jerez test at the beginning of December, the three young drivers will each be having a further two half-day sessions in the 006 car this week. First to drive this morning was James Rossiter who completed 37 laps in chassis 006-06. Alan van der Merwe took over in the afternoon session completing a total of 46 laps. Adam Carroll will get his chance in the car tomorrow morning.

All drivers are now in 2005 cars with the exception of Alexander Wurz, Rubens Barrichello, Marc Gene, James Rossiter & Alan van der Merwe.
