26 January: Valencia Test - Day 2 On the second day of testing at Valencia, Nick Heidfeld and Antonio Pizzonia successfully continued the BMW WilliamsF1 Team's 2005 preparations. Much like yesterday, today's session at Valencia was some what compromised by the weather, with chilly temperatures, barely reaching 5 degrees C (ambient) and strong winds. With just five days to go before the BMW WilliamsF1 Team launches its 2005 contender, Nick Heidfeld and Antonio Pizzonia continued the Anglo-German partnership's preparations for the new season, which begins in just over five weeks. Nick focussed on traction control and chassis work, completing 109 laps on his way to posting the fastest time of the day, 1:10.079. Antonio also did some chassis work in addition to tyre construction testing. The Brazilian completed 97 laps, posting the second best time of the day, 1:10.364. Tomorrow, Antonio will be joined by Andy Priaulx, who has been given a test drive with the BMW WilliamsF1 Team following his success in the 2004 ETCC, which he won with BMW. Tim Newton (Test Team Manager, WilliamsF1): "We’ve had another difficult day today with the wind restricting our efforts again. Both Pizzonia and Heidfeld still managed to complete a considerable numbers of laps, however, with the pair also recording the quickest times of the session. The drivers were working to the same schedule, putting more mileage on the new components and evaluating set-up options. They also attempted some tyre testing but to little effect due to the poor weather conditions. Nick has concluded his work with the interim FW26 while Antonio will run for one more day tomorrow. He will be joined by Andy Priaulx who has been awarded a one off test opportunity as a reward for his success in the European Touring Car Championship with BMW." Lap times
